Historic food was terribly up-to-date in 2011, with the opening of Dinner,
Heston Blumenthal’s first London outpost, serving dishes inspired
by fourteenth to twentieth century recipes. Shortly afterwards came the
similarly themed Gilbert Scott in the reopened St Pancras Hotel, now part of
the Marriot group.
